My sadness weighed heavy
A hole gaped in my heart.
I was grieving, and eyes cast down, could see no light.
But, you, special sunshine that you are
burst through the clouds and lit up my world again.
And every day since I have met you
I look forward to the way that you make things bright.
I appreciate the way you help me to believe that everything will be all right.
And like you said, no one can never bring back the one I lost
But I am glad you found your way into my life
To help me feel happy in moments when I'd be sad.
You gave me the strength to go on
When I was ready to give up.
How? By shining like the sun for me.
