Objectives:
With an extensive base of writing, editing, coaching, leadership, administrative and entrepreneurial experience, combined with outstanding expertise in communications, I am looking for an opportunity to work on writing and/or editing projects in any creative arena. Professional
Experience:
I have been self employed since 1996, first operating a Metaphysical Resource Centre and Shop in Keswick, Ontario, and then taking my business, which I still run on a part-time basis, online in 1998. My services include personal coaching and writing in the new age arena.
I am an internationally syndicated columnist with several daily and weekly columns being published by Penn Media since 1999. I have also published or contributed to a variety of online newsletters and magazines, as well as print newsletters. I am a published authour of three books under my pen name Zsuzsana Summer. I currently host a very popular weekly new age podcast through SourceNewAge.com.
From 1991 through 2001, I worked as a freelance journalist/regular columnist for Metroland Publishing (Era Banner Newspaper) in York Region. I recently freelanced for Star Projects/The Port Perry Star.
I have experience in copywriting, business correspondence, advertising, and translations. Some of the topics I have covered include health; home and garden; inspiration; theatre; fashion; local politics and community issues. One of my most recent positions was Content Editor/Writer for Moxi Femme magazine.

Experience:
I am currently working part-time as a Bookstore Manager for Half Price Books.
From 1988 to 1990, I owned and operated a personnel placement agency (Cachet Management Consulting) in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
I have worked as a promotional event co-coordinator for Pike Chiropractic Centre in Keswick, Ontario (organizing the first ‘Kids’ Day’ in Georgina), as well as doing promotional events for Arcana New Age Centre and local businesses.
I also have an extensive background in administrative functions, gained throughout many years in top level administrative assistant positions, from about 1980 through 1995. Positions held included secretary to Exec. Vice President of Prentice-Hall Canada, (about 3 years), Administrative Assistant to President of Vertex Corp. (2 years) and several years acting as Administrative Assistant in 2 business centres, YCC Business Centre and Slough Executive Business Centres in Richmond Hill.
Skills:
Computer: Excellent computer skills (various word processing programs, excellent keyboarding, internet and email skills, online marketing and some knowledge of web programming).
Teaching/Motivational: I have been teaching and facilitating personal development workshops through Arcana New Age Centre both in person and on-line, through courses I created, since 1997. Recently, I created and presented a series of workshops for teens at Oshawa Public Library.
General: My personal assets include a strong leaning towards academia and general knowledge combined with an upbeat, outgoing and creative persona. I balance these qualities with dedication, attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility. All my editors and co-workers over the years have been consistently impressed with my professionalism and unfailing commitment to quality of work and meeting deadlines.
I communicate very effectively with people at all levels. I have taught socially and developmentally challenged young people and adults through my volunteer work. I’ve also taught adults in recreational courses through night school programs, and I have coached many people in personal development through various workshops.
I am highly effective in leadership functions as well as working with a team. Making a positive difference for other people motivates me in any working environment, and I enjoy finding new ways to be of assistance in any position. I am outgoing, focused and very positive, and always enjoy the opportunity to share in the community.
