I just wanted to share an interesting and touching experience I had this week which I think may be of great help to those who are trying to develop their psychic abilities. The moral of this story is to LOOK and be OPEN to what you receive - and HOW you receive it - the information doesn't always come in on the same track as the one you are waiting on! *grin*
Rindy, a friend of mine, has been emailing me for some months to try and set up a time to visit T., a friend of hers, who has been experiencing a great deal of ghostly activity in her house for a long time now. This week our schedules finally clicked - and I was able to join Rindy at T's house for a visit and a cup of tea.
I've done several ghost investigations in the past few years and although they DO make me nervous, I was quite open this day to what I was going to receive. I'll make a long story short and tell you that during the two hour visit, we did indeed see several manifestations of ghostly activity. I was not as nervous as usual, probably because I was well protected by a little cross I had made for myself that morning out of two rowan twigs tied with red thread into the shape of a cross and had pinned to the zipper of my sweater. (BTW - rowan is GREAT for protection and I recommend such a charm for anyone who is going into any similar type of situation.
My problem with these investigations is that I am quite the skeptic while very much wanting to believe every nuance of spirit which makes its presence known:>)! Several strange things had already occurred in this lady's house by the time I finished my first cup of tea - but I wanted more definitive info. At a bit of a loss for what to do next, I mentioned to T. 'don't mind me for a few minutes' and told her I'd be watching her aura for a bit.
T. was sitting on a small sofa and as I gazed at her, the first shimmery silver light began to glow around her until it stretched to encompass the whole sofa. I kept looking, hoping for a sign of a spirit guide or some other entities to perhaps show up in this energy field around her. It wasn't the ideal setting for deep receptiveness, because T. and Rindy were chattering in the meantime, and the household dog was prancing around, so I wasn't surprised when nothing identifiable showed up right away. I did, however, notice a very strange 'stretching' of the aura into a sharp point at the back of T.'s head.
Well, I didn't want to draw the experiment - or visit - on for too long, so after a minute or so I thought I'd better come forth with what I'd seen. What the heck, I said to myself - let's see where this goes - and I asked T. if she had known anyone who wore a white, knitted cap that came to a point near the top or back. T. just looked at me for a moment and then said a definitive YES.
That surprised me a bit, because the only object I could really relate it to would be a small, knit or crochet baby's hat, with white tie ribbons attached - and that didn't seem likely. Without another word, T. excused herself and came back a moment later with a box which she placed on the floor in front of me. She opened it to reveal a memento box for her little baby boy who had died at one week of age over 10 years ago. Rindy and I were simply amazed when she couldn't find what she was looking for, but a minute later - after a frantic dash through the house, she returned with the white baby hat, which she had obviously had in her hands recently and which needed to be returned to the box with the rest of the baby items.
She was incredulous, knowing that I couldn't have known anything about her loss and the presence of her baby's spirit in the house, and the incident led to a healing conversation about letting her baby's soul move on now.
To sum up, although I did experience many ghostly manifestations of other kinds that day, the most important piece of information came through an unusual and unexpected source. I would never have thought to see an 'item' in someone's aura - and was certainly not looking for that at the time.
I think the message that was reinforced for me this day was to allow intuitions their freedom of expression - because what we EXPECT is not always the WAY in which Spirit chooses to speak to us!
